Frontline podcast
a journalist goes to the rural area of Athens, County where my story Cloud of Witnesses takes place–to discover that when the schools shut down in southeast Ohio because of the coronavirus it left children at risk of going hungry. The population was always at risk of poor health outcomes and at the margins of society, there is real danger now of families starving. Teachers have come together to drop off food to far-flung families living in the hills. School buses take the teachers up and down the county roads to help deliver food boxes.
The journalist describes the landscape that is depicted in Cloud of Witnesses. He is now a witness.
